India has The World's Largest Democracy

1. India is seventh largest country by geographical area.

2. India is second most populous country with 1,180,757,000 people. (2010 estimate).

3. India is most populous democracy in the world.

4. India is nuclear weapon state and has third largest standing army in the world.

5. India has world second largest labor force with 516.3 million people.

6. Indian economy is 4th largest economy by PPP GDP ($ 3.862 trillion) after China, Japan, USA.

7.Indian economy is world's 11th largest economy by nominal GDP ($ 1.367 trillion) after Canada, Spain, Brazil, Italy, UK, France, Germany, China, Japan and ranked no.1 USA ($ 14.256 trillion).

8. Changed economic reforms in 1991 has transformed India into world's second fastest growing major economy.

9. India's per capita GDP nominal ranked 139th with $1,124 while per capita GDP in PPP terms ranked 128th with $ 3,176.

10. Goldman Sach's and other world economist report projected that," from 2007 to 2020, Indian GDP per capita will quadruple" and that Indian GDP will surpass US economy before 2039.

Six routes have been setup. : Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar, Pune-Mumbai-Ahmedabad,Hyderabad-Dornakal-Vijayawada-Chennai, Howrah-Haldia, Chennai-Bangalore-Coimbatore-Ernakulam, Delhi-Agra-Lucknow-Varanasi-Patna.

33. India ranked 4th in internet users with figure of 81,000,000 users.

34. India ranked 7th in telephone lines in use with figure of 37,060,000 telephone lines.

35. India ranked 2nd in mobile phone in use with figure of 584,323,402 in use.

36. India ranked 5th in foreign exchange reserves with $ 279,708,000,000.

37. India ranked 2nd in police forces by size with figure of 1,129,000.

38. India ranked 5th in number of billionaires with figure of 49 billionaires.

39. 56 Indian companies entered in 2010, forbes world's 2000 companies.

40. However India ranked 84th out 182 countries in Corruption level survey by Transparency international with rating of 3.4/10 in 2009.

41. India's power generation is 149,391 MW. Currently India's power generation projects is under massive expansion to increase the figure to 200,000 MW by 2012. By 2020 power generation will increase to 400,000 MW. And by 2030 it will increase to 950,000 MW.

42. Three Indian universities were listed in the Times Higher Education list of the world’s top 200 universities — Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Management, and Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2005 and 2006. Six Indian Institutes of Technology and the Birla Institute of Technology and Science - Pilani were listed among the top 20 science and technology schools in Asia by Asia week. The Indian School of Business situated in Hyderabad was ranked number 12 in global MBA rankings by the Financial Times of London in 2010 while the All India Institute of Medical Sciences has been recognized as a global leader in medical research and treatment.

44. India's literacy level is 66%. Before 1981 conditions it was predicted that 95% to 100% literacy level will achieved not before 2060. Due to massive change in education system of India there is drastic increase in literacy level.

45. India’s povetry level is reduced to 41.6% in 2005 from 61% in 1981. Govt. have ambitious plans to eradicate poverty by 2020.

46. According to Goldman sachs, India will need to spend $ 1.7 trillion on infra to achieve 10% and over GDP rate growth over the decade to become developed economy.
To curb the situation, Indian govt. will be spending $1 trillion in year 2012-13 to 2016-17 on infrastructure which is double of current 5 year plan.

48. India’s expressways network consists of 200 kms only. However there is massive expansion of expressways network to increase to 15600 kms by 2022. some of them are already under construction.

49. India’s metro system is underway. Currently Delhi , Mumbai , Bangalore , Kolkata, Gurgoan metro projects are under construction. Some proposed metro projects for cities are Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Konkan, Pune.

50. Mumbai monorail is under construction for rapid transport system .New Delhi , Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata monorail projects have proposed to be built.

51. Currently New Delhi and Mumbai high rise buildings ranked 346 th and 75 th with figure 26 and 143 high rise buildings respectively.

More than 2000 high rise buildings are under construction in Mumbai alone (feb. 2010 update).

Four cities Mumbai , New Delhi , Bangalore and Kolkata has been approved to develop as manhattanizaton cities.

Master planning of major cities some approved some proposed to developed world cities by 2021, roughly 10- 15 cities.

Whole new city project are also be proposed.Lavasa city India's first hill city is under construction with first phase to be completed by 2010 near Mumbai. Nano city is proposed city near Chandigarh with concept similar to Silicon Valley, USA.
